Tragedy in Ibadan: Motorcyclist Dies as Car Crashes into Pharmacy [Photos]

A tragic accident claimed the life of an unidentified commercial motorcyclist on Saturday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. at Osuntokun Junction, opposite a commercial bank in the New Bodija area. According to eyewitness accounts, a black Mercedes saloon car, reportedly overspeeding, veered off the road and crashed into a pharmacy, causing extensive damage to the building.

The motorcyclist, who was inside the shop at the time of the crash, died on the spot. His body was later retrieved from the debris and has been deposited at the University College Hospital (UCH) morgue in Ibadan.

In addition to the pharmacy, two vehicles belonging to customers parked outside the shop were also severely damaged. The driver of the Mercedes sustained critical injuries and was rushed to UCH for emergency treatment.

The tragic accident has left the community in shock, with many lamenting the loss of life and property. Local authorities are expected to investigate the incident further to determine the cause and prevent similar occurrences.
