Trump Hails Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, at Prestigious US Prayer Breakfast

United States President Donald Trump publicly acknowledged the presence of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the 74th National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C., drawing attention to her participation during his address at the event.

Speaking on Thursday, Trump paused to recognize Mrs Tinubu among the distinguished guests in attendance, describing her as a highly respected individual and highlighting her role as a Christian pastor in one of Nigeria’s largest churches.

Expressing appreciation for her presence, the former US president said it was an honour to welcome the Nigerian First Lady to the global gathering.

“We are honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria, who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at one of the largest churches. A very respected woman,” Trump stated.

“First Lady, where are you? Thank you very much. It is a great honour to have you with us.”

Mrs Tinubu’s attendance underscored Nigeria’s representation at the high-profile event, which traditionally attracts political leaders, lawmakers, religious figures, and dignitaries from different parts of the world.

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual international forum aimed at fostering unity, spiritual reflection, and dialogue among leaders, regardless of political or religious differences. Over the years, it has served as a platform for strengthening diplomatic ties and promoting shared values of faith, peace, and service.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a former lawmaker and the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has remained an influential public figure in Nigeria, with longstanding involvement in governance, faith-based initiatives, and social advocacy.
