15-Year-Old Boy Speaks After Allegedly Spending Days In Police Custody Over Missing Wristwatch In Anambra

A 15-year-old boy has spoken out after allegedly spending several days in police custody over a missing wristwatch in Anambra State.

The boy, who reportedly works as an apprentice at a roadside vulcanising shop, claimed he was arrested on Saturday, October 17, 2026, following a dispute with a man over a wristwatch allegedly delivered to the area months earlier.

In a statement after his release, the teenager said: “I’m just coming out from Abagana Police Station. I was arrested on Saturday and freed today.”

According to reports, the incident dates back to around June 2026, when a man allegedly ordered a wristwatch online and had it delivered to Nawfia Ave Maria Junction in Anambra State.

The package was reportedly handed over to the 15-year-old apprentice at the vulcanising shop.

However, the man allegedly returned in October to retrieve the wristwatch, only for the boy to insist that he knew nothing about the delivery.

The teenager reportedly presented the only wristwatch available at the shop, but the man allegedly rejected it, insisting that it was not the item he had ordered.

The boy further alleged that the man assaulted him before having him arrested on October 17.

According to the report, the boy’s employer was also allegedly detained after returning from his village on Tuesday, October 20, and learning about the incident.

The teenager has since been released from custody, but the circumstances surrounding the alleged delivery, the missing wristwatch and the arrests remain unclear.

As of the time of this report, the full details of the incident and the police’s account of the matter have not been established.
