The fallout from Karim Benzema’s acrimonious World Cup exit continues after the Real Madrid star unfollowed almost all of his former French teammates on Instagram.
Benzema departed Les Bleus prior to the tournament in Qatar, with the French Football Federation citing an injury.
However, it has since transpired that Benzema’s knock wasn’t a long-term injury and he returned to Madrid training before France’s World Cup final, with reports suggesting he rejected the opportunity to return to the Middle East amid a fallout with coach Didier Deschamps.
And now Marca reports that Benzema has performed a cull of his social media, unfollowing all but five of his former teammates on the national squad, who are Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane and Marcus Thuram.
