Journalist Behind Claimed Phone Call Of Peter Obi, Oyedepo Finally Opens Up

Ayoola Babaola, a journalist with the People’s Gazette, who on April 1st published a leaked audio call between the presidential candidate of the Labour party (LP) Peter Obi and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) has promise to confess on reasons behind the story following the backlashes after the purported leaked audio was busted as fake news.

Gists9ja reports that in a viral audio file, voices like Obi, Oyedepo conversing measures to win the 2023 presidential election for the former Anambra governor in the 2023 general elections generated mixed reactions on and off social media.

In one of the conversations, in the alleged leaked audio, Obi had responded to Bishop Oyedepo, saying he would be voting in Onitsha.

However, a quick check on the internet, revealed that Peter Obi was at the time in Agulu, his hometown in Anambra state and equally voted the next day with his wife, instead of the said Onitsha emphasized in the leaked audio.

Reacting to the alleged viral phone call, netizens found the audio to be a heavily doctored audio using Artificial Intelligence.

Following the heat of the expose, the journalist behind the story whilst replying to the tweeps who called him out for publishing fake news, said he will ‘confess.’
