DSS Officials, Driver Injured In Osun Speaker Convoy’s Accident

Operatives of the Department of State Service and a driver were injured and hospitalised after a road accident that occurred in the Dagbolu area of the Osun State.

The DSS operatives were occupants of a vehicle in the convoy of the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Wale Egbedun.

Egbedun, however, was not in the car when the accident happened on Sunday along Osogbo/Ikirun road.

The DSS operatives and the driver were heading towards Odo Otin Local Government Area, accompanying Egbedun to his constituency, where he had planned to attend church service.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, in a chat with Punch, said those in the car sustained minor injuries and were treated at a private hospital in Osogbo.

He also said Egbedun was not in the car, having travelled earlier with another set of people.

Tiamiyu said, “The accident happened around Dagbolu along Osogbo/Ikirun road on Sunday. Three DSS men and a driver were in the vehicle when it happened. One of the tyres had a problem and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“Two of the DSS men had slight cuts and were treated in a private hospital in Osogbo. The other two people in the vehicle were discharged this morning. The Speaker was not in the vehicle. It was a minor accident.”
