The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has fired back at the National Chairman, of All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, calling him a serial loser and political betrayal.
The Kano State Chairman of the party, Hashimu Dungurawa, told pressmen on Thursday that if Ganduje were not a serial loser, would he have lost his own polling unit during the 2023 general election?
The NNPP’s reaction follows an initial attack from Ganduje on his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Ganduje described Kwankwaso as a professional presidential election contestant in Nigeria and will remain a serial loser.
The APC national chairman made this remark in Abuja on Wednesday at the party’s national secretariat while hosting the NNPP’s governorship candidate in the 2023 election in Bauchi State, Haliru Dauda Jika, who formally defected to the APC.
Ganduje said Kwankwaso is a selfish individual who specializes in deceiving people and is always first to jump the boat when he doesn’t get what he wants.
However, in what looks like a hit back, the NNPP Kano chairman claims that Ganduje only won previous elections in the state through the support of Kwankwaso.
He mocked him, saying one who could not even deliver the entire state to the party and President Bola Tinubu could only be a loser.
Dungurawa challenged Ganduje on how many times he won elections on his own since 1999.
He said, “If Ganduje has forgotten, he is talking to his Political Master, who he served as deputy governor for eight years, and same Kwankwaso made him representative of Lake Chad and also his Personal Secretary when he was Minister of Defense.
“The same Kwankwaso, after ensuring that he kept Ganduje closely helping him to survive political life, ensured that in 2015 he personally, despite all odds, made him governor in Kano.
“it will amount to political betrayal for Ganduje to now have the guts to speak ill of Kwankwaso, because there has been a time when even Ganduje, in tears, said that he has nothing to repay Kwankwaso’s goodwill.
“What happened in the recent elections, when he clearly lost in his hometown, Ganduje, and where he couldn’t even win his own polling unit?
“If not Ganduje, who quickly forgets recent realities, just this 2023, he cannot win Kano despite the fact that Kwankwaso came in with a new brand party.
“And not only his governorship candidate, even his own son he made to contest the House of Representatives was defeated hands down by Kwankwaso. So what is he talking about?”
Speaking further, Dungurawa said just because he (Ganduje) managed his way to become APC national chairman does not mean Kwankwaso is his mate.
“The child’s play they did in the Elections Tribunal is giving him hope to open his mouth anyhow; it will soon be overturned at the Appeal Court.
“Just because Ganduje managed his way to become the National Chairman of APC, which would soon be taking over, he thinks Kwankwaso is his mate. Well, time will surely show who is who,” he added.
