Igbo Essay Competition: Group Lauds Chief Dr. Ikenna Okafor's Philanthropic Gestures Towards Igbo Language Education

socio-cultural organization, the Anambra Central People’s Forum (made up of well-meaning Professionals of various calling, Traditional Leaders, the Clergies, Presidents-General, Youths and Captains of industries), has lauded Chief Dr. Ikenna Okafor, KSS(Ide Akwaeze, Chinyelugo Anaocha), for his philanthropic gestures towards Igbo Language Education.

The Grand finale of the Igbo Essay Competition which took place on Friday, 17th November, 2023 at the Auditorium of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, was a significant gathering for the Igbo nation as many prominent Igbo sons and daughters, including the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State chapter; Honourable Commissioner of Education, Anambra State; Senator High Chief (Dr.) Ben Ndi Obi, CON; among other dignitaries, graced the noble Igbo event.

In a Press Release made available to journalists in Awka, and signed by its Chairman, Achebe Chris, Esq., the Group said; “We are happy to note that Chief Dr. Ikenna Okafor’s philanthropic gestures towards Igbo Language Education, has brought positive energy in moulding the younger generation to build capacity in the area of Igbo speaking, writing and research for sustained growth of the Igbo race in time and eternity”.

The Group also described Chief Okafor as avid lover of education, accomplished Igbophile, notable Philanthropist, humanist and visionary entrepreneur whose remarkable contributions to the business world and the betterment of society have earned him widespread admiration.

Also speaking, one of the Patrons of the reputable Group, former Vice-Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Founder, Otu Suwakwa Igbo (Nig.) Initiative, Professor Pita Ejiofor commended Chief Dr. Ikenna Okafor for his uncommon benevolence towards Igbo Language Education which will help the students in getting a better sense of their cultural background, and urged the people to continue to pray for the man “that God has used to bring positive development to Anambra State”.
Ejiofor described the Managing Director and CEO of Keves Global Leasing Limited, Keves Inn and Suites, and Arthur Services Limited, among others as a “philanthropist with a difference, who has touched the lives of the downtrodden in society positively in many ways”.

On his part, The Most Revd. Prof. Godwin Okpala (JP, OON), Emeritus Archbishop of the Niger Province and Bishop of Nnewi (Anglican Communion), who hails from Anaocha Local Government Area concluded succinctly: “Chief Ikenna Okafor has through his numerous philanthropic works and activities demonstrated that he is truly an embodiment of Christ’s love and embodiment of human relief”. He further said Okafor was “an angel sent by God” to help the needy and the downtrodden in society”.

Meanwhile, the prestigious Anambra Central People’s Forum has congratulated Chief Dr. Ikenna Okafor, KSS(Ide Akwaeze, Chinyelugo Anaocha), on his recent conferment of “Ambassador of Good Community Service and Public Philanthropy Special Recognition Award”, and pray that God’s blessings shall continually be consistent and catholic for Chief Okafor and family.
