The suspension, effective from November 25, 2024, was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman. The letter was signed by the PDP State Chairman, Sama’ila Burga, who outlined the basis for the disciplinary action.

Burga disclosed that Habibu Umar was issued a query on November 5, 2024, following a report from the PDP’s Beni Ward Exco accusing him of acts of insubordination. To address the matter, the party established a disciplinary committee on November 11, 2024, to investigate the allegations.
“After critical investigation and evaluation, the committee found the honourable member guilty of violating Sections 58 (9) (1) and (f) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended). Based on its findings, the committee recommended his indefinite suspension in accordance with Sections 59 (4) and (5),” Burga stated.

The suspension prohibits Umar from participating in all party-related activities pending further notice. “He is barred from engaging in any party-related activity pending further developments,” the chairman emphasized.
