In a heated exchange of political accusations, the House of Representatives member, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has accused former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, of leveraging the judiciary to frustrate the governance of his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Ugochinyere, a vocal critic of Wike’s political maneuvers, claimed that the ex-governor was employing legal tactics to undermine the legitimacy and effectiveness of Fubara’s administration.
Ugochinyere’s remarks came in response to recent legal battles surrounding Fubara’s tenure, with several court cases being filed against the governor, particularly involving allegations of electoral malpractice and governance issues. According to Ugochinyere, Wike, who now serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been using his influence to manipulate judicial processes in an attempt to destabilize Fubara’s leadership. “Wike, despite having handed over power to Governor Fubara, is still pulling strings behind the scenes to create instability in Rivers State. He is using the judiciary as a tool to frustrate the smooth running of Fubara’s administration,” Ugochinyere asserted in a statement.
