BREAKING: Scores Feared Death In Lagos Multi-Storey Building Collapse

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday morning in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State as a multi-storey building under construction collapsed, reportedly trapping an unknown number of individuals beneath the rubble.

The collapse occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Oremeta Street, taking both occupants and unsuspecting passersby by surprise.

Local reports indicate that the structure, which was still under construction, also housed the popular EqualRight Restaurant — a well-known gathering spot for residents and visitors in the area. The restaurant was reportedly operational at the time of the incident, raising concerns that staff and customers may have been among those affected.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and chaos as dust and debris filled the air, with screams heard from within the collapsed structure. “It all happened so fast. People were running, shouting. Some workers were still inside,” one witness told Daily Post.

Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, and other security operatives, swiftly mobilized to the site to begin rescue operations.

As of the time of this report, the number of casualties or survivors has not been confirmed, but efforts to clear the rubble and locate trapped victims remain ongoing.
