Veteran Nollywood actor, Don Richard, has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance as he battles a life-threatening kidney condition.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram by fellow actress Biola Adebayo on Tuesday evening, Richard revealed that he had exhausted all his resources trying to stay alive, including selling his house and car to fund his treatment.
He said, “When my wife got the news of my illness, she broke down in tears. I told her, ‘Another man will be lucky to have you.’ I begged her to take care of our twin children.
As soon as she left the hospital, she sold our house and our car to cover my treatment. Now, I have nothing left.”Biola Adebayo, who posted the video, also shared his account details, noting:
“Don Richard has been battling kidney issues for some time now.”
Meanwhile, actor Chinedu Okeke has denied claims that he left Nollywood because he was repeatedly cast in roles portraying armed robbers and violent criminals.
Known for his standout performances in classic Nollywood action films like Issakaba, Peace Maker, Shina Rambo, and V-Boot, Okeke addressed the rumors in a recent interview.
The speculation suggested that Okeke became frustrated with being typecast and had pleaded with filmmakers for softer, non-criminal roles. Some reports even claimed he left the industry after being mistaken for a criminal in real life.
However, Okeke dismissed the reports, saying: “I never said anything like that. Those roles made me popular. I have no regrets.”
He added that he is still passionate about acting and is open to a wide range of roles — including romantic ones. He called on producers to consider him for new projects, stressing his readiness to return fully to the big screen.
