A 28-year-old woman has been found dead in her seat aboard a passenger aircraft after fellow travellers reportedly noticed she was not moving as passengers disembarked following the flight’s arrival in Chiapas, Mexico.
The incident reportedly occurred early Wednesday morning after the woman travelled on a four-hour Volaris flight from Tijuana to Chiapas, according to Mexican media outlet Diario del Sur.
The flight reportedly proceeded without incident, and the woman’s condition was only discovered when it was her turn to leave the aircraft.
Passengers reportedly realised that she was unresponsive, prompting concerns over her condition.
Footage recorded inside the airport appeared to show the woman’s body being removed from the aircraft and carried in what looked like a sheet.
According to Diario del Sur, an autopsy is underway to establish the exact cause of death. However, preliminary findings reportedly suggest that she died from cardiorespiratory arrest.
The report added that the woman had been returning to Chiapas to visit her family after working in the border city of Tijuana.
Further details surrounding the circumstances of her death had not been provided in the report.
