President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Nigeria for France to begin his 2025 annual leave, which will last 10 working days.
The President was formally seen off at the airport by senior government officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (George Akume), Chief of Staff (Femi Gbajabiamila), Governors Hope Uzodimma and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Finance (Wale Edun), Minister of Budget and National Planning (Atiku Bagudu) among others.
According to a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will spend his vacation between France and the United Kingdom before returning to the country.
The statement read in part:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave. The vacation will last 10 working days. President Tinubu will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country.”
Meanwhile, political speculations continue as Abdulmumin Jibrin, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has hinted that former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso may still consider joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a Channels Television interview on Wednesday, Jibrin noted that while he is not privy to Kwankwaso’s exact political plans, the former NNPP presidential candidate has consistently said his “doors remain open” to political discussions.
