A Ghanaian woman, identified as Akanemah Mercy, has shared her surprising experience after discovering the real reason behind her husband’s unusual romantic post about her on WhatsApp.
In a post on Facebook, she explained that her husband who rarely uses social media or even shares his own photos suddenly posted her picture with a glowing caption that read: “My beautiful, respectful wife, my peace.”
The unexpected gesture left her puzzled.
“I was so surprised because he doesn’t do such things,” she wrote, noting that her husband is typically reserved and not active online.
Curiosity got the better of her, prompting her to check his phone for the first time. What she found, however, left her stunned.
According to her, a message from another woman suggested that the post was not as sincere as it appeared. The woman reportedly accused her husband of trying to make her jealous, revealing that their relationship had recently ended.
“I know you are doing this because I’m with Ben. I loved you, but you hurt me so much, and it’s over,” the message read.
The revelation made her realize that her husband may have used her photo as part of an attempt to provoke his former lover.
Reacting to the discovery, she expressed a mix of shock and sympathy, noting that although her husband did not respond to the message, he appeared withdrawn and unusually quiet.
She added that she even began to feel sorry for him, saying she missed his usual lively personality and commanding presence.
Still unsure how to handle the situation, she jokingly questioned whether she should intervene and plead with the other woman on his behalf while also admitting she did not want her husband to know she had seen the messages.
