A Federal High Court has ordered the remand of popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, at the Kuje Correctional Centre over allegations of impersonation and forgery.
Blord was remanded on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, following his arraignment before the court in Abuja on multiple charges linked to the alleged impersonation of social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The development was made public by VDM, who shared a video on Instagram showing Blord being escorted from the court premises to prison custody. According to him, the charges stem from a series of actions allegedly carried out by the crypto entrepreneur without his consent.
VDM accused Blord of forging flight documents bearing his name, claiming he was scheduled to travel to Onitsha for the launch of a tech product. He also alleged that Blord falsely stated he had paid him ₦500 million to serve as a brand ambassador and publicly promoted him as such without any agreement.
Further claims include the use of VDM’s identity and image in promotional materials, including billboards and flyers, to endorse a digital platform—actions he insists were carried out without his approval.
As part of the court’s ruling, Blord is expected to remain in custody for 26 days pending further proceedings, a development that means he will spend the Easter period behind bars.
The case has sparked conversations online, particularly around digital identity misuse, celebrity endorsements, and accountability in Nigeria’s fast-growing tech and crypto space.
