Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has publicly called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the worsening insecurity across the country following reports of the killing of a teacher abducted by bandits in Oyo State.
The actress made her feelings known in a post shared on Instagram as Nigerians continue to mourn the teacher, who was reportedly beheaded after being kidnapped alongside pupils and other teachers from a school in the state.
Expressing deep concern over the increasing wave of violence and killings, Ruth Kadiri stressed that the situation could no longer be dismissed as propaganda or political attacks against the government.
“This is not a propaganda! This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad,” she wrote.
“And even if they were, you can’t leave your house on fire.”
The actress directly appealed to President Tinubu to take decisive action to protect Nigerians, warning that citizens no longer feel safe even in their homes.
“Dear President TNUBU pls do something.. Or give us the go ahead to protect our lives and properties,” she added.
“Too much death everywhere. Being a Nigerian is not even safe at home anymore.”
Ruth Kadiri also lamented the growing number of innocent Nigerians losing their lives to insecurity, stating that many victims are suffering despite having no connection to the problems fueling the violence.
“Too much innocent lives are paying for sins they know nothing about,” she said.
Her comments have added to growing public outrage over insecurity in parts of Nigeria, particularly recent incidents involving kidnappings, attacks on schools, and killings by armed groups.
Several celebrities and public figures have also continued to speak out, urging the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and restore public confidence in the country’s security system.
