Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over their political activities ahead of the 2027 general election.
Olayinka, in a post on X on Tuesday, questioned whether Atiku was still interested in contesting the presidency in the January 16, 2027 election.
He also made a sarcastic remark about Obi, asking why the former Anambra State governor had not allegedly misled Nigerians in the preceding two days.
The FCT minister’s aide referred to Atiku as “Wole Wole Kachalla” in the post, which appeared to be a taunt directed at the former vice president.
He wrote:
“Abeg, is Kachalla Wole Wole Atiku Abubakar still contesting this January 16, 2027 presidential election? E reach make person ask.
“They closed the gate of the Kaaba for the leader, the child of brass caster. It is called grace.
“For two days, Peter Obi has not lied, what happened?”
Olayinka’s comments come amid political exchanges surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing spiritual visit to Saudi Arabia.
Tinubu was reportedly granted access to the Holy Kaaba in Mecca, where he prayed as part of his pilgrimage. The development has generated mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some social media users claiming that he was the first Nigerian president to enter the sacred structure.
Meanwhile, Atiku’s aides have criticised Tinubu over the pilgrimage. The former vice president’s spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, claimed that Atiku had financially supported Tinubu’s first trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
The exchanges have added to the political tension and public debate involving supporters of the country’s major political figures ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
