Obasanjo’s Son Joins PBAT Movement, Declares Support For Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election

Hon. Olujuwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has joined the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as Special Adviser on Political Affairs, declaring his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Olujuwon made the declaration during a visit to the movement’s headquarters in Abuja, where he was received by its National Coordinator and taken on a guided tour of the facility to familiarise himself with the organisation’s structure and operations.

He described his appointment as an honour and a privilege, commending the movement for its grassroots mobilisation, community outreach, humanitarian activities and efforts to promote the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

The former president’s son said he had been following the movement’s activities for some time and was impressed by its initiatives, adding that he was prepared to contribute towards achieving its objectives and securing Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

According to him, President Tinubu has started on a positive note, stressing the need for Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the administration’s ongoing reforms and ensure continuity in governance.

He also pointed to developments in salary payments, infrastructure and investment opportunities as areas where the country had recorded progress, arguing that such gains should be sustained.

Olujuwon expressed confidence that sustained support for Tinubu would enable his administration to build on its achievements and deliver more benefits to Nigerians.

He further disclosed that he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2014, explaining that members of his family were free to hold different political views and pursue their individual interests without hostility.

He recalled attending meetings involving his father, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the late President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu during the formation of the APC.

He described the political differences within his family as issues handled with mutual understanding and respect.
