Iran Reacts To Trump’s Midterm Election Defeat, Says Americans Have Rejected War

Iranian officials have reacted to the outcome of the United States midterm elections, describing the results as a clear rejection of President Donald Trump’s policies, particularly his administration’s involvement in the war against Iran.

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said the election results reflected the American people’s dissatisfaction with the government’s actions and policies.

In a statement on Wednesday, Ghalibaf declared that Americans had rejected war, citing concerns over national conscience and the rising cost of living.

“Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message,” he said.

The Iranian parliament speaker warned that if the US government ignored the will of its citizens to serve what he described as international paymasters and blackmailers, it would discover that Iran’s rejection would come with serious consequences.

Similarly, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, claimed that Trump had suffered defeats on multiple fronts, including the battlefield, the Strait of Hormuz and Washington.

According to Rezaei, the American people and government were now bearing the enormous economic and political consequences of what he described as Trump’s warmongering.

The former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any country that confronts the Islamic Republic would pay a heavy price, both on the battlefield and within its own territory.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, also reacted to the election outcome, suggesting that the results reflected the consequences of Trump’s foreign policy decisions.

“Pride comes before a fall,” Baghaei wrote.

He accused the United States of being dragged into an unlawful and atrocious war against Iran, adding that American voters had delivered an unmistakable message to their political leaders.

Baghaei further warned that continued disregard for political realities would produce consequences extending far beyond what had already been witnessed.

The Iranian officials’ comments came after the Democratic Party secured control of both chambers of the US Congress, with opposition to Trump’s domestic policies and the war involving Iran reportedly playing a significant role in the outcome.

Gists9ja reports that the election results have triggered fresh reactions from Tehran, with Iranian leaders portraying the outcome as evidence of growing American opposition to Trump’s administration and its foreign policy.
