Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, extended his condolences to Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, following the tragic loss of his son and mother.

Gists9ja reports that the Governor’s son died in a road crash just a day after his mother passed away from an illness.

Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, visited Namadi as part of his New Year engagements. In a post on X, Obi expressed solidarity with the grieving Governor, offering his prayers for strength and solace during this challenging time. He also prayed for comfort for Namadi and his family, as well as for forgiveness and peace for the deceased.

Obi wrote: “In continuation of my New Year engagements, I visited Jigawa State to commiserate with and stand in solidarity with my brother, the Governor, His Excellency Mallam Umar A. Namadi, during this difficult time as he mourns the painful loss of both his mother and his son. My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and the people of Jigawa as they navigate this profound grief.

“May Almighty Allah protect, bless, grant him and his family the strength and solace to endure this difficult period and find comfort in the love and support of those around them. May Almighty Allah forgive the sins of the dead and grant them Aljanna Firdausi.”
