The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his recent conviction in court.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed that Mamman was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Kaduna State.
The development comes days after the former minister was convicted on all 12 counts brought against him by the anti-graft agency.
Recall that on May 7, the court found Mamman guilty in the case filed by the EFCC, marking a significant development in the corruption trial involving the former minister.
Although details surrounding the latest arrest and subsequent legal steps remain unclear, the case has continued to attract national attention due to Mamman’s role as a former cabinet member.
The EFCC has intensified its anti-corruption campaign in recent years, with several former public officials facing investigations, prosecutions, and convictions over alleged financial crimes and abuse of office.
