Our findings revealed that the department of Criminology and Security Studies, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State is indeed in turmoil even as students claims that the Acting Head, Dr. Ngozi Udoye has become a thorn in their flesh. Dr. Udoye, we previously reported, was originally employed as a lecturer in the department of educational psychology in the faculty of education of the institution. She left her department as a result of consistent quarrels and fights between her and lecturers and students in the education department. She moved over to the department of Criminology and Security Studies where she currently has no academic background yet teaches courses in the department. She has surprisingly been allowed to teach postgraduate students by the university. In one semester, one MSc student, reported to us, that Dr. Udoye taught them six (6) Masters Degree courses, all alone, and supervised a number of MSc students theses. We strongly expresses reservations over the quality of post-graduate students Dr. Udoye produces with her qualifications only in education.
Our reporter further found out that the Criminology and Security Studies Department has never known peace ever since Dr. Ngozi Udoye joined them from the faculty of education. It has been one problem or another with the students at the receiving end. The students are indeed feeling immense pain and frustration, and they fear that if Udoye’s issue is not addressed promptly by the university management, it may escalate into a full-blown crisis.
Our findings also revealed that the students have reported Dr. Udoye to the university management severally, and yet nothing changed. One of the students we interviewed, revealed that Dr. Udoye will always tell them that she is untouchable. She claimed that not even the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kate Omenugha can do anything to her. She always boosts before students and even her colleagues that she has connections and can do anything she likes and nothing will happen.
Also, Dr. Udoye reportedly claimed to have worked with the FBI in the US, a claim that is false, as our reporter found out the woman is only a serial liar and blackmailer. A look into her profile in various online search engines showed nothing. There is no record of her services with the FBI or any known job in US. One of her ex students who shared his encounter with her revealed to us that Udoye is a nightmare he will never wish his worst enemy. He stated, Udoye can lie, mislead, intimidate and boost, I only pity students of the Criminology and Security Studies Department… the Lord is their muscle in Udoye’s hand.
Further investigation also revealed that Dr. Ngozi Udoye equally presents herself as a Reverend Sister, a claim that is highly questionable and has raised serious doubts among the university community and Catholic Church in Anambra State.

Subject: Urgent: The Fate of 400 Level Criminology Students Hangs in the Balance
Some students of the Department of Criminology and Security Studies at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State have written to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Kate Azuka Omenugha, seeking urgent intervention over what they describe as a growing crisis within the department.
In a petition dated December 2, 2025, the students alleged that the continued delay in the release of results for 400-level students could jeopardize their academic progress and future careers.
According to the letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor, the affected students said they have been left in uncertainty while their counterparts from other departments have already completed their clearance processes.
“The dreams and hopes of these students are hanging in the balance because their results have not been released,” the petition read. “Many of them fear they may lose an entire academic session due to circumstances beyond their control.”
Allegations Against Acting Head of Department
The students also raised concerns about the leadership of the department under its Acting Head, Ngozi Udoye, alleging that the situation in the department has deteriorated in recent years.
Some students claimed that tensions between the department and the Faculty of Social Sciences have contributed to the delay in releasing academic results. They urged the university management to investigate the matter and ensure that the affected students are not unfairly penalized.
The petition further alleged that the crisis in the department has created frustration among students, many of whom say they feel trapped in academic uncertainty.
Calls for Urgent Intervention
In their appeal, the concerned students called on the Vice Chancellor to urgently intervene and resolve the dispute, warning that failure to address the issue could lead to protests by affected students.
“The protest being planned is not merely a demonstration but a desperate cry for help,” the letter stated, adding that students only want their results released so they can move forward with their academic and professional plans.
University Yet to Respond
As of the time of filing this report, the management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University had not issued an official response to the allegations raised by the students.
The situation has sparked concerns within the university community, with observers calling for a thorough review of the issues raised in order to prevent further escalation and protect the academic interests of the students involved.
