Veteran Nigerian entertainer Daddy Showkey has appealed to Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye to put an end to their lingering family dispute, warning that the prolonged public feud could have lasting consequences for the next generation of the family.
The music veteran made the remarks during an interview with Yanga FM while reacting to the renewed rift between the former P-Square members and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
According to Daddy Showkey, the level of fame and success the brothers attained over the years may have contributed to the tensions currently playing out in public.
He suggested that some of the financial disagreements at the heart of the conflict could have resulted from genuine mistakes and should not be allowed to permanently divide the family.
The singer stressed that the brothers are mature adults who should find a way to resolve their differences privately rather than allowing the dispute to escalate.
He also warned that the public nature of the conflict could eventually affect the relationship between their children, creating divisions that may extend beyond the current generation.
“I see that when fame comes, it affects people,” Daddy Showkey said.
“They should not be arguing because Jude deducted some money. Maybe it was a mistake. They are not small children.”
He continued: “This whole thing will affect their own children as well.”
The veteran musician further observed that pride appeared to be playing a role in the brothers’ inability to reconcile.
“If you even see the way they are all talking, you will see ego,” he added.
The comments come amid the highly publicised dispute involving Peter Okoye (Mr P), his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, over the management and ownership of assets linked to the defunct P-Square music group. The disagreement has spilled into the public domain in recent weeks, with allegations and counter-allegations continuing to generate widespread reactions on social media.
