Controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has reacted to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
Gumi reacted through a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, where he described Khamenei as someone who died while fighting what he believed was injustice.
According to him, the late Iranian leader lost his life during a struggle against those he accused of killing innocent women and children in Gaza and other places.
He also stated that Khamenei’s death would inspire change among Muslims around the world. Gumi said the Iranian leader remained committed to his beliefs and did not go into hiding during the conflict.
He further said those responsible for his death, or those who supported it, would face the consequences of their actions in this world.
He wrote: “Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: A lucky soul, he died in Jihad against killers of innocent children and women in Gaza and elswhere. His blood will fuel the change in the ummah. He stood firmly for Justice and didn’t hide in bunkers. For those who killed him or assisted in killing him, let us see what they will live to do in this world. “
Khamenei died on Saturday following an Israeli airstrike in Tehran. The strike was said to have targeted locations within the Iranian capital.
Khamenei had served as Iran’s Supreme Leader for several decades and played a major role in shaping the country’s political and religious direction.
