The agency disclosed this in a statement issued on the morning of February 24, noting that the probe was prompted by allegations shared by a user on X. The individual alleged that he attended a daycare reportedly owned by the mother of Nigerian singer Simi and claimed to have troubling memories from his time there as a child.
Allegations Spark Online Reactions
The claims quickly gained traction online, drawing widespread reactions and discussions among users. The situation intensified after some social media users resurfaced old posts attributed to the singer, which they interpreted as inappropriate in the context of the unfolding allegations.
In a post dated Monday, February 23, the accuser alleged that he and other children experienced actions at the daycare that, according to him, should never occur in a childcare environment. The claims remain unverified, and no formal findings have been announced.
