A Nigerian man who borrowed ₦170,000 from OPay has taken to social media to lament the amount he is required to repay.
In a now-viral post on X, the man disclosed that he took the loan in January 2026.
Identified as @BIGFAT00L01 on X, after checking his loan status, the amount increased twofold.
Although the X user admitted he can repay the loan, he’s holding off to see how it unfolds.
A screenshot attached to the tweet showed his outstanding loan at ₦315,218.
Meanwhile, the tweet has drawn reactions from X users sharing their takes on the situation.
MCN Regina remarked, “The rediculous interest that these loan sharks collect is the reason why I don’t borrow loan”.
Ace stated, “When you want to leave Nigeria there is already a system that doesn’t allow you to go until you pay back”.
