Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reacted to the ongoing disagreement between the family of late gospel musician Toluwanisings and his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, over his burial arrangements.
Aloba reportedly compared the situation to the controversy that followed Mohbad’s death, questioning why some people were criticising Toluwanisings’ family for their stance on the matter.
Speaking on the dispute, Mohbad’s father reportedly alleged that Toluwanisings’ mother-in-law lives in a comfortable home equipped with air conditioning, while the late musician’s father allegedly lives in a room with an annual rent of ₦35,000.
He questioned why people were opposed to the family handling the matter in a manner similar to the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s burial.
The disagreement centres on where Toluwanisings should be laid to rest. Reports indicate that his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, prefers that he be buried in a cemetery rather than at the house he reportedly built.
However, members of the late gospel singer’s family are said to oppose the proposed cemetery burial, leading to an ongoing disagreement over his final resting place.
The situation has continued to attract public attention, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions over the role of a spouse and the deceased’s family in deciding burial arrangements.
