Armed bandits have reportedly invaded the residence of a man identified as Lukman Muttaka in Kaura Namoda area of Zamfara State, abducting his two wives and five children, including a baby.
The attack reportedly occurred on Wednesday night, May 13, 2026, throwing the community into fear amid growing concerns over worsening insecurity in the state.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the family house and forcefully took away seven members of the household during the raid.
In a desperate cry for help posted on Facebook while the attack was ongoing, Muttaka reportedly wrote in Hausa:
“Barayi acikin gidana taimaka man dan Allah,” which translates to, “Thieves are in my house, help me for God’s sake.”
The victim’s younger brother, Tijjani Lukman Baban Yusra, also confirmed the incident in a separate Facebook post.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Bandits succeeded in entering my elder brother CSI Lukman Muttaka’s house where they took the entire family. We pray Allah keeps them safe,” he wrote.
The abduction has reportedly heightened tension among residents of Kaura Namoda and surrounding communities, where repeated attacks by armed groups have continued to fuel fear and uncertainty.
Residents have called on security agencies and the government to intensify efforts to tackle the growing wave of kidnappings and bandit attacks across Zamfara State and other parts of northern Nigeria.
