Popular Nigerian cleric and relationship coach, Kingsley Okonkwo, has sparked conversations online after sharing his views on certain behavioural patterns women should be cautious of when choosing life partners.
In a post that quickly gained traction across social media platforms, the pastor outlined six categories of men he advised women to avoid, describing them as red flags capable of undermining healthy relationships and long-term commitment.
According to him, the first on the list is the man who insists on marrying a virgin despite not meeting the same standard himself. He suggested that such expectations often reveal hypocrisy and unrealistic relationship demands.
He also cautioned against significantly older men who deliberately seek much younger partners, noting that extreme age gaps, especially when driven by control or image considerations, may create imbalance rather than genuine companionship.
Another category he described is the “perpetually broke yet proud” individual — a man who constantly begs for financial help but resists growth, accountability, or self-improvement.
Okonkwo further warned about men he labeled as “Mr. Potential,” those who speak endlessly about big dreams and future plans but take no practical steps toward achieving them. He emphasized that consistent action, not mere ambition, is what sustains a relationship.
He also advised women to be wary of men who claim that “all the ladies want them,” describing such individuals as attention-driven and often involved in multiple emotional entanglements while denying responsibility.
Lastly, he mentioned men who insist that “there are no good women left,” arguing that such a mindset often signals unresolved personal issues and an inability to build healthy partnerships.
The pastor’s remarks have since generated mixed reactions, with some agreeing that the list reflects common relationship challenges, while others argue that both men and women must equally examine their attitudes to foster balanced unions.
