RCCG Pastor Speaks On Alleged N60,000 Charge To See Adeboye

The Pastor in charge of Redeemed Christian Church of God Cornerstone Parish, Okota, Lagos, Pastor Ayokunle Ajayi, has denied reports claiming that church members are required to pay N60,000 before they can meet the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Ajayi addressed the issue during a question-and-answer session held on Sunday after an anonymous church member requested clarification over the widespread rumour.

Responding to the allegation, the cleric described the claim as false and warned members against giving money to anyone promising them access to the General Overseer.

According to him, invitations for special prayers or meetings from the church are officially communicated through the church office and do not require any form of payment.

“People receive text messages from the church office inviting them for prayers. Please do not pay any money to see the GO. If anyone asks you for money, kindly report it so appropriate action can be taken,” he said.

The clarification comes amid growing discussions on social media surrounding alleged payments for access to prominent religious leaders in Nigeria.

Ajayi also urged worshippers to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters or individuals attempting to exploit members in the name of the church.
