The mailbox for the Federal Ministry of Works’ official email address is full, preventing Nigerians from reaching the ministry for inquiries or complaints. Yet the ministry has done nothing about it.
The ministry’s primary contact email address, info@fmw.gov.ng, as displayed on its website, could not receive emails.
On two separate occasions, emails sent to info@fmw.gov.ng were not delivered. Instead, Gmail’s Mail Delivery System returned messages indicating that the mailbox for the address was full.
Part of the message reads, “This is the mail system at host mail.govmail.gbb.com.ng. I’m sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It’s attached below. For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster. If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.”
Another part of the message states that the mailbox for the ministry’s primary contact address has exceeded its storage quota. “The mail system <info@fmw.gov.ng>: host mail.govmail.gbb.com.ng[private/dovecot-lmtp] said: 552 5.2.2 <info@fmw.gov.ng> Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) (in reply to end of DATA command).”
When an email was sent to the ministry on February 13 for an update on the completion of the bridge at Lotto Bus Stop along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
