“They Are Reaping the Fruits of Greed” — Catholic Priest Speaks on Ned and Regina’s Relationship

A Catholic priest, Fr. Ugwu, has stirred controversy online after claiming that the marriage between billionaire politician Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is not founded on love but on mutual greed and self-interest.

According to Fr. Ugwu, neither party has the moral right to complain about any challenges in their marriage, as they are now simply “reaping the fruits of their choices.”

“Ned is obsessed with virginity. Gina is obsessed with wealth,” the priest wrote.
“In an interview with Seun of Channels TV, Ned revealed that he can’t marry someone who is not a virgin. A non-virgin is a turn-off to his ‘royal’ blood.

“In a social media video, Gina alluded that she would rather cry in a Lamborghini. A Keke driver has no chance with her ‘sexy’ body.”

Fr. Ugwu explained that both individuals got exactly what they wanted from each other a transactional relationship masquerading as marriage.

“Luckily, or should we say providentially, Ned met Gina and Gina met Ned. Ned had wealth, which Gina wanted. Gina had virginity, which Ned wanted. Their requirements on both sides were met,” he said.

“Transfers were made. Results were visible. Ned looked fulfilled and proud to show off the offspring that emanated from his ‘virginic exploration.’ Gina was happy at last, flaunting the dollars, Ferrari, and G-Wagon that came from her ‘ancestral exploration.’”

The priest, known for his blunt social commentaries, likened their union to a contractual transaction, not a sacred covenant.

“Ordinarily, none of them ought to complain. Their ‘wants’ were met. They both got what they were pricing in the market. What they ordered was exactly what they got,” he wrote.

However, Fr. Ugwu added that the couple’s current issues stem from a misrepresentation of their relationship, saying they mistakenly called it a marriage when it was merely an exchange of desires.

“The problem between Ned and Gina is that they used the term ‘marriage’ to define what they shared. But if we are to be critical, bearing in mind what marriage truly means, it is an abuse of the word.

“If marriage could speak, it would have sued Ned and Gina for defamation,” he wrote pointedly.

The post has generated heated debate online, with many Nigerians divided over Fr. Ugwu’s comments some agreeing with his bold stance, while others accuse him of judging the couple’s private life.

Neither Ned Nwoko nor Regina Daniels has publicly responded to the priest’s remarks at the time of this report.
