Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen celebrated the birth of his daughter in memorable fashion after scoring for Galatasaray in their emphatic 4-0 victory over Konyaspor on Friday night.
However, concerns over a possible injury overshadowed the Nigerian international’s impressive performance.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 12th minute, rising to meet a free-kick from Gabriel Sara and powering a well-placed header beyond Konyaspor goalkeeper Deniz Ertaş.
The 27-year-old continued to pose a major threat to the home side’s defence and came close to adding to his tally before halftime, but his powerful effort was kept out by Ertaş.
Osimhen remained dangerous after the break and again went close to scoring with a header from a corner kick, only for the Konyaspor goalkeeper to produce another fine save.
Injury Concerns Emerge
The striker’s evening came to an end in the 61st minute when he was replaced by Deniz Gül as Galatasaray maintained control of the encounter.
Concerns over Osimhen’s fitness emerged after reports that he experienced discomfort during the first half and received treatment before continuing the game.
The concerns intensified after the final whistle when the Nigerian forward was reportedly seen limping while greeting Galatasaray supporters.
Galatasaray had yet to issue an official statement on Osimhen’s condition, leaving fans waiting for clarification on the extent of the reported injury.
The goal against Konyaspor took Osimhen’s tally to 10 goals in all competitions this season, making the victory an even more memorable occasion for the Super Eagles star following the arrival of his new baby girl.
Gists9ja reports that Osimhen and his partner recently welcomed their second child, a daughter named Liora Audrey.
