A resident of Ado-Ekiti has publicly challenged claims that the city has witnessed significant development under the administration of Abiodun Oyebanji, sparking fresh debate about the state of infrastructure in the Ekiti State capital.
The man’s reaction followed recent remarks by popular comedian Seyi Law, who had commended the governor’s performance and declared his intention to support Oyebanji’s bid for a second term.
In several videos circulated on social media, the resident embarked on what he described as an on-the-ground assessment of parts of the city. He filmed a number of inner roads, pointing out stretches he claimed were in poor condition and lacked proper maintenance. The footage also showed some public school buildings, which he alleged were in a deteriorating state and not conducive to learning.
The man further highlighted an ongoing bridge project, alleging that construction had dragged on for nearly three years without completion. He expressed concern that the unfinished structure now poses environmental and safety risks to people living in the surrounding area.
His videos have since generated mixed reactions online, with some viewers agreeing that more needs to be done to improve infrastructure, while others defended the government, arguing that development projects take time and should be assessed more broadly across Ekiti State.
The exchange has added to growing public discourse on governance, accountability, and the role of citizen voices in evaluating government performance.
