A wedding scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, has been cancelled just one day before the ceremony.
The groom-to-be, identified as Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya, announced the cancellation in a statement shared on Facebook on Friday.
According to Ogbonnaya, the wedding between himself and his fiancée, Miss Gift Oriaku, was called off following what he described as “irreconcilable developments” that arose unexpectedly.
In the announcement, the groom appealed to members of the public, friends and family to understand the situation and continue to support and pray for him.
He wrote:
“Attention Please.
“Cancellation of Marriage. I, Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya wishes to use this medium to inform the general public that the wedding between myself, Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya and Miss Gift Oriaku slated to hold tomorrow, Saturday the 19th Day of September 2026 has been called off due to irreconcilable developments that just arose.
“I sincerely regret and apologize to everyone for any inconveniences this may have caused and I appeal that the public should pls bear with me even as I implore your continued prayers and support. May God bless everyone.”
The announcement means the couple’s planned wedding ceremony will no longer proceed as scheduled.
Ogbonnaya did not disclose the specific nature of the developments that led to the cancellation.
The sudden announcement has since attracted attention on social media, particularly because it came just a day before the couple was expected to exchange marital vows.
Neither Ogbonnaya nor Oriaku has publicly provided further details about the circumstances surrounding the cancellation at the time of this report.
