Arome Osayi Vows To Stop Discussing Spiritual Encounters Online Amid Backlash [Video]

Apostle Arome Osayi, founder of Remnant Christian Network (RCN), has announced his decision to stop discussing his spiritual encounters publicly following criticism over his claims of seeing Jesus Christ, angels and other supernatural beings.

The preacher made this known in a video circulating on social media, where he said some people had accused him of using his alleged encounters to promote his spirituality.

However, Osayi maintained that his experiences were genuine, insisting that seeing angels was part of his calling and not something he could simply stop experiencing.

“I’ve decided that I will no longer be discussing my encounters online because people believe that I’m advertising my spirituality, that he’s saying that he sees angels. I see them almost every day. You cannot use the Bible to contradict that kind of encounter,” he said.

Arome Osayi Defends Claims Of Seeing Angels

Defending his position, the cleric argued that people who maintained a close relationship with God in the Bible also encountered angels.

“People that were right with God in the Bible, they saw angels. I see them. It’s part of my calling,” he added.

Osayi stressed that his decision to stop speaking publicly about the experiences did not mean they would stop happening.

“There’s no way you’d think that I would say, okay, I don’t see them again. No. I have seen some things in heaven,” he stated.

The preacher also hinted at revelations he claimed were yet to come to pass, saying future developments would confirm that he had spoken about them beforehand.

“I will tell you some that have not yet come to pass, so that when it happens, you will know that I told you,” he said.

He further predicted that some people would be displaced in the coming days, attributing the alleged development to their failure to dedicate themselves to God.

“You are going to see in the days to come, people that will be displaced. The reason for the displacement is because of a refusal to consecrate themselves to God,” Osayi added.

Backlash Over Alleged Encounters With Jesus

The development comes amid growing controversy over the preacher’s accounts of supernatural encounters, which have attracted criticism from social media users, entertainers and fellow Christian clerics.

One of the accounts that generated widespread reactions involved Osayi’s claim that he encountered Jesus during a visit to a beach in Tanzania.

According to the preacher, he asked Jesus for the power to raise the dead and reverse autism. He claimed that Jesus instructed him to send ₦5 million to a pastor in exchange for the powers.

Osayi also alleged that during a subsequent church ministration, an angel touched him on the head, after which five people who could not walk reportedly stood up and began walking.

The account resurfaced on social media in September 2026, prompting questions about the authenticity of his claims and the alleged instruction to transfer the money.

Skales, Abel Damina And Kanayo O. Kanayo React

The controversy intensified on October 4, 2026, after Nigerian singer Skales questioned Osayi’s claims in a post on X.

Reacting to a viral video in which the preacher described being taken to heaven and meeting Jesus alongside 13 other people, Skales wrote: “Something has to be done to regulate this folks… they are making the gospel look like a joke… people actually believe this lies?”

Pastor Abel Damina also criticised the accounts, questioning their biblical basis and raising concerns about some of the details in Osayi’s testimonies.

Damina addressed the controversy during a church service on October 8, 2026, following messages from people asking him to respond to the viral videos.

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo subsequently joined the debate, publicly questioning Osayi’s claims about visiting heaven in a video shared on Instagram on October 19.

Despite the backlash, Osayi has continued to maintain that his spiritual experiences are genuine, insisting that his decision to stop discussing them publicly should not be interpreted as a denial of what he claims to have seen.
