Today, the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ) celebrates a man of extraordinary generosity and integrity, Mr. Kennedy Itoje.
Over a decade ago, when NACJ was still a vision taking shape, Mr. Itoje was at the helm of a growing finance bank as Chief Executive Officer. We had a bold dream to launch our association with impact, and our first event was slated for the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja. The only challenge was funding, we had none.
Providence connected us to Kenny. After listening to our vision for a stronger, more patriotic Nigeria, he believed in what we stood for. Without hesitation, he extended a soft loan of half a million Naira, a significant sum at the time, and did so without collateral. His faith in our mission spoke louder than any contract.
It is that act of faith and love for country that we honor today. Kennedy Itoje is a man of integrity, accountability, and transparency, a visionary leader whose patriotism translates into action. Had it not been for the instrument God used him to be in that defining moment, NACJ may never have taken flight. For us at the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists, your role in birthing this association will never be forgotten.
