
One Dead, Several Injured As Bus Carrying 21 Passengers Somersaults, Catches Fire In Ilorin
One person has been confirmed dead while several others sustained injuries after a commercial bus carrying 21 passengers somersaulted and caught fire along the Oko-Olowo Expressway in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The accident occurred on Sunday, with the crash leaving the vehicle engulfed in flames.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, said the agency received a distress call regarding the accident and immediately mobilised its personnel to the scene.
Adekunle said firefighters arrived at the location at about 6:35 p.m. and commenced emergency operations.
According to him, the passengers were evacuated from the vehicle, while those who sustained injuries were taken to a hospital for medical attention.

He confirmed that one person died in the crash and sympathised with the family of the deceased while wishing the injured passengers a speedy recovery.
