A viral audio recording allegedly featuring the father of Ilebaye Odiniya has triggered widespread reactions on social media after he opened up about their reportedly strained relationship following her rise to fame.
In the lengthy recording making rounds online, Ilebaye’s father claimed he played a significant role in helping her emerge victorious during the Big Brother Naija competition through his personal efforts, influence, and support mobilised from Nigerians both within and outside the country.
According to him, things allegedly changed after her victory, as he accused the reality TV star of no longer taking his advice seriously and gradually distancing herself from family matters.
He further alleged that disagreements began to emerge between them over several issues, including her lifestyle choices, spending habits, cosmetic procedures, and family-related concerns.
The recording also contained claims of repeated misunderstandings and confrontations within the home, which he suggested contributed to the deterioration of their relationship.
Since the audio surfaced online, social media users have continued to debate the situation, with some sympathising with the reality star’s father while others argued that private family disputes should not be brought to the public space.
As of the time of filing this report, Ilebaye had not publicly reacted to the viral recording or the allegations made by her father.
