Nollywood actor Uche Odoputa has disclosed that his family will hold a funeral for his late father with an empty casket because they have no remains to bury.
The actor made this known in an emotional social media post, announcing that the family would honour their late patriarch, Mr Kenneth Chukwumezie Odoputa, in a few weeks.
According to Odoputa, although the family has no body to lay to rest, they remain determined to celebrate his father’s life, preserve his legacy and express their love for him.
Sharing his grief, the actor wrote, “We have no body to lay to rest, but we have his life to remember, his dignity to honour and our love to express.”
He also fondly described his late father as “Honestman”, promising that the family would continue to cherish his memory.
Odoputa further used the announcement to encourage people experiencing grief to open up to trusted individuals and seek emotional support rather than go through difficult moments alone.
Concluding his tribute, the actor reaffirmed his family’s love for their departed patriarch, saying, “Dad, we love you. We remember you. We will always honour you.”
