Two Killed, Six Injured in Separate Road Accidents in Aba, Abia

At least two persons have been killed in separate road accidents recorded at different locations in Aba, Abia State, on Friday and Sunday.

The first incident occurred at the Osisioma Flyover junction on Friday when a truck reportedly lost control and rammed into a shop, killing a male adult and injuring about six other persons.

According to an eyewitness, the truck, which was loaded with goods, was travelling at high speed when the driver suddenly lost control and crashed into the busy area, hitting traders and pedestrians.

The injured victims were subsequently rushed to a hospital for medical attention.

Although the exact cause of the crash had yet to be established, there were suggestions that it might have resulted from reckless driving or a possible brake failure.

Confirming the incident to DAILY POST, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State, CC Ngozi Ezeoma, disclosed that the deceased victim was a male adult.

In a separate incident on Sunday morning, an unidentified man was reportedly killed along Port Harcourt Road in Aba.

The victim, who was said to be heading to church, was allegedly knocked down from behind by a speeding motorcycle.

The impact of the collision resulted in his death, bringing the number of fatalities recorded in the two separate accidents to two.
